Ground Sport Fitness is the first Functional Fitness Gym to hit Mangalore. Our programs are designed to make you fit and toned for life while improving your speed, strength, endurance, agility, cardiovascular capacity, flexibility and co-ordination. This cutting edge training includes special equipment and drills to challenge core strength and physical endurance. At GSF, we provide personal attention to each member. Workouts are designed by certified instructors who make sure your techniques are right before you go for the kill. We are here to get you Functionally Fit!

Our Approach

We combine cardiovascular exercises, power lifting and strength, endurance & metabolic conditioning by using natural movements like squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, running and jumping. This develops real-world strength.

The Offering

All workouts at GSF are designed and taught by certified trainers and focuses on overall fitness. The inspiration comes from sports like athletics & football, power lifting, martial arts, military training and yoga, and burns upto 1200 calories per session.

At GSF, we focus on making you functionally fit. The workouts are designed to improve your body’s natural movements and thus preparing for real world situations. These workouts improve your speed, strength, endurance, power, agility, coordination and flexibility. An amazing physique is just a by-product. Classes are made interesting with variations in workouts every day.
Life today is fast and busy, but not active. We are not running, lifting, pulling, carrying, and moving enough to be fit and strong. Our bodies are designed for physical activities and not for the sedentary lifestyle that we lead today. At GSF, the focus is on functional training with respect to the body’s natural movements. We combine cardiovascular exercises, power lifting and strength, endurance & metabolic conditioning by using natural movements like squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, running and jumping. You don’t need machines for that. Machines balance the weight for you which leave your stabilizing muscles weak. But free weights force you to balance the weight yourself which strengthens your stabilizers. These workouts are extremely beneficial to your health and well-being.
Functional Fitness is a balanced, total-body, overall fitness program, working on movements as opposed to muscles, is core-centered, involves developing more than functional strength, and often encompasses high intensity interval training. The focus is on compound movements that engage the maximum amount of muscles at one time. You rarely do single-joint movements like curls in the real world. Carrying or picking up heavy objects always engages several muscles. So to get stronger you must practice exercises that mimic real-world movement. This builds explosive strength. Functional Fitness program is the most effective and efficient program to achieve proper health and fitness.
No. At the beginning of each one-hour session, we teach the basic movements and techniques for the day and the participants then take it forward. As fitness levels vary, the participant’s workout at their own pace with constant supervision from the trainers.
Yes. We have more than two trainers in each class who work on your techniques and monitor it throughout the class.
The variations every day ensure that you stay excited and look forward to learning new workouts and techniques. The improvement that you notice in yourself with each passing day keeps you motivated to push your limits. We surprise your body with different engaging workouts everyday so your body doesn’t get used to the same routine. Group and partner workouts create a friendly environment, making it a great place to network.
Functional Fitness is for everybody as it uses our body’s natural movements. We have members ranging from the age of 8 to 50+. As fitness levels vary, the participant’s workout at their own pace with constant supervision from the trainers. Functional Fitness is your best weapon to combat obesity, aches, pains and injuries, while adding tremendous benefits to your health and social well-being.
A typical one hour class starts with warm-up and technique training, followed by the main workout for the day, and ends with cool-down and stretching. All classes are in groups with personal attention given to each member.
Comfortable workout clothes. We recommend shorts/track pants and t-shirt. No shoes as all our workouts are barefoot.
No, we provide with all the gear required to do the workouts. Only bring yourself and leave the rest to us.
We share diet plans that encourage you to eat healthy, with pre and post workout meal options to keep you energized during and after workout. If necessary, we also arrange for sessions with a qualified dietician.
Yes, we offer one free trial class. Please call us to schedule the same.
